June

It is hard to believe it is already June 9th. This year is flying by.

I sell SeneGence products, the best known is LipSense, which I love using. You can find me here :
https://www.facebook.com/Colorfast.lipstick.and.gloss/#

I also sell 100% nail polish strips which launched on the 12th.
I love being around people and helping others feel good about themselves.

I like making items for others as well. This year I've made 2 family baby blankets, 4 charity quilts and 3 sadie's dream for a cure bags.

THIS IS NOT MY PICTURE
I would like to try to make something like this someday soon.

Gray Bunny Finish

This beauty is for a little blessing in my family. I sent it to the quilters so it would be finished on time for a delevery in May. The only instructions given to the quilter were "don't over quilt it, I want the bunny to be the focus". When I went to pick it up she had the saddest eyes and quickly said how sorry she was for doing exactly what I asked her not to do. She just got going and quilted away and went to add up the total and read my instructions and just about had a heart attack.

Of course I told her not to worry that it was fine and if she thought it needed to be quilted that way it was fine. I paid her and even let her quilt 2 more of my quilts after that. :)

filter added to show some quilting.

the back, also with a filter, to see more of the quilting.

Sadie's Dream for a Cure

I enjoy making items for others. Sometimes i like the items so much that they don't leave my house.. Hmmm i hope i'm not the only one with this problem.

I started 3 bags for Sadie's Dream for a Cure and then ran out of the fusible Fleece for the body of the bags and had to put it on hold until i made it to the store. With 4 days left of the month i finally cranked out my pledge of 3 bags.

We have been flooded with rain this spring. After driving home in almost blind conditions it stopped raining and after i pulled into the garage i was able to snap this faint rainbow to the south of my home. It looks like there could have been 2 more but i couldn't tell for sure. I also looked for the other end of the rainbow but it was bright blue sky to the north.

Finished up close

I made my own tail pattern, I'm thinking I need to tweek it a little bit so it sits at more of an angle.

I will get the brown rabbit done in April along with another quilt that is a gift. I don't have any pictuers of the second quilt yet.

ONE MONTHLY GOAL-March Finish
PEEPS

I didn't quilt the brown bunny this month. I chose to get the gray one done first as it is a gift and I wanted it to be done on time. Below are pictures as is and then with a ZEKE filter to make the quilting more visiable. The front is gray with white dots and the back is white on white.

Peeps! I finally finished this quilt. I used the origional 2X5 size and resized it by 200 and 250.

Granny Square. I LOVE the colors. This one will be a wall hanging for my mom's appartment.

Many mini trips around the world took 9 years of saving and cutting scraps and 7 weeks of sewing 5+ hours 5 days a week. The pieces finish at 1". This quilt is a twin at 57" X 72"

Rabbit attached

I started working from home last month. I haven't had much time to sew as I immersed myself in learning all I could about the products I will be selling. I LOVE LipSense lipstick, so much so that I try to get everyone I know to try it. 4-18 Hour wear times are great. I wasn't a lipstick fan before because it wouldn't stay on. I no longer worry, I know it will stay.

Close up of the rabbit.(I miss the dark brown background!!)

My son was helping and he asked that I not crop the picture. He didn't want my shoe missing or his chair.
Now i need to decide how to quilt it.

I purchased fabric for the cougar but it didn't match. I will wait until i find a better match before attaching. I DID do a second rabbit in gray but it is a gift and i can't share it yet.

Pattern tested Rabbit

I completed another pattern by Yanicka. I'm blown away at how awesome these animals look.
This guy took 1 day for templates and one evening for fabric and 2 broken up days to sew.

Keep them coming my way Yanicka!

Completed Cougar

The Cougar pattern testing is complete. Pattern testing is new to me but I absolutely LOVE working with Yanicka, she is a wonderful artist. I'm glad I wasn't overlooked with my limited amount of paper piecing quilts finished. I'd have to go back and look to see if any have been posted to know for sure.

I was surprised that the prep work took me 2-3 days. Tracing templates took a long time and it was taxing on the shoulders if not spread out with movement in between tracing sessions.

The sewing took me 2-3 broken up days. I put everything else on the back burner, EVEN Dinner, because I didn't want to lose any of the 109 pieces of the pattern. Yep you heard me correctly. That number is large but don't let it scare you.

I'm not one to remember to take pictures as i go, so here it is before figuring out what i want to back it with and turn it into a quilt for a nephew.

BACK of Cougar

There is only one fabric i would change so that is a huge bonus.

Cougar

This is January's one month goal, Not to complete it but to get the head 3/4 finished.

The cougar is Yanicka Quilts' quilt. It is absolutely beautiful. She has graciously allowed me to be a pattern tester. I'm cutting out the templates today and hopefully tonight after my children are asleep I will get to start on the fabrics.

Stunning, brilliant and I'm so excited!!!
